There are some things in life that should be easy and one of them is the Orrstraylian Barbecue. As the weather finally heats up this week (we hear everyone yell “yippee” immediately followed by “good lord it’s so hot”) This Little Pig thought it was high time it bought out it’s favourite go-to summer barbecue item.

This Little Pig cooks dinner every Monday night without fail. Whatever ends up as dinner is often a direct reflection of this fine swines mental state. If This Little Pig has had a powerful and productive day, the meal is often some delightful gentle roasted meat with caramelised vegetables and lush salads. If this poor piglet has had an atrocious day it will often be an overdone, rubbery steak and an undercooked jacket potato which will then send this porcine further into the dark murky depths of self loathing. This Little Pig’s husband is always very kind but you can notice a dubious face as he pokes at the potato and then quickly slathers it with butter and salt.

This Little Pig absolutely loves its mum (see last years list of why HERE) and with Mothers Day just around the corner this fine swine thought it was the perfect time to show off a breakfast feast like no other to cook your giver of life. This dish is so incredibly glorious and it is best served on a tray with a rose, a big cup of tea and a handmade card – no matter what your age. When This Little Pig was young, it used to wrap up its mums belongings and then give them back to her as a present “ohhhh it’s my old vase, you REALLY shouldn’t have.” This fine swine was clearly an entrepreneur from a young age. Now however This Little Pig likes their mum to know how much she is loved by feeding her well and spending quality time with her. So whether you’re planning to buy your mum a Ferrari or wrap up one of her old vases as a re-gift, this breakfast on Mothers Day will make her feel super special and as if she’s out at a café but still gets to be in her jim jams with her piglets at home. Oink.

3 Year Oinkiversary - How Pigs Fly, I mean How Time Flies
This week marks 3 years of This Little Pig Went to Market. What a long way we have come. What started as a test in our lounge room for 5 lucky family & friends to the big pig that we are today, our trotters have certainly covered some distance! We’ve got up at 5am for at least 150 Weekend days. We’ve made up boxes, liners, ice bricks and stamped bags by hand. We’ve tied goodness knows how many black ribbons and we’ve done nightmarish things like hand grate parmesan and tie small ribbons around each individual serviette because we thought it would “look pretty.” We’ve hand ripped foil and baking paper for each box and we have hand stamped more brown lunch bags than any canteen lady in the world.
