Is it any good? I’m feeling nervous about trusting you with my Christmas.
Fair enough piggo, Christmas is a pretty big deal. So is it any good? In a nutshell, yes of course it is. In a bigger nutshell, these little pigs take Christmas very seriously and coming into its 7th year of doing these marvellous packs, this fine swine thinks it definitely knows what its doing. This Little Pig's aim is that you have an easy, stress free meal that you didn’t have to wrestle over the last bag of rocket for at the shops, that is packed full of big punchy flavours, fantastic local produce and generous portion sizes.
When is it delivered?
We have two delivery options: Friday 18th (to be consumed that weekend) & Wednesday 23rd (to be consumed by boxing day). We deliver between 9am & 5pm on these days.
Do I need to be home for the delivery?
Your delivery comes packed in our beautiful insulated cooler boxes with icebricks. It's designed to keep your delivery cool and comfortable up until 8pm the day of delivery. If you're not home, our couriers will pop the boxes in the safest/shadiest spot they can find!
Can I pick up my delivery from your warehouse?
We offer a pickup service from 10am-2pm on both delivery days from our warehouse at 35 Radius Loop, Bayswater.
Can I request a delivery time?
Our couriers will be delivering between 9am & 5pm. Due to the sheer volume of orders, we are not able to provide specific delivery times, however get in touch if you need a rough estimation of AM or PM.
What are your delivery zones?
Our usual delivery zones apply (see map below) if you're not in this area, perhaps consider getting your pack delivered to a friend or family member who is, or you can pickup from our warehouse in Bayswater.
What’s the difference between the two packs?
The Big Kahuna is our more traditional Christmas feast. It comes with crunchy spuds, a beautiful glossy gravy, a broccoli salad that is nutso good and in general requires a bit more work in the oven department. The Casual Kahuna reflects its name. Easy to whip up and have around the pool. The veggo option has time in the oven but all the rest are a ‘throw in the oven’ or quick ‘boil on top of the stove’. Can’t decide? Get one for Christmas and the other for pre and post Christmas feasting, plus a ham for gently popping shavings in your mouth whilst watching the cricket.
Are the packs Dietitian approved?
Our Christmas feasting packs do not come with our usual "Dietitian Approved" review from Dr Amelia Harray.
Can I do a combination of the packs?
Why yes you can and that’s what we will be doing for our family Christmas feast this year. You can purchase two (or more) different packs together (add one to your shopping cart and then return to the menu page and add the second one). We don’t offer any of the packs broken up, e.g. the turkey added to the BBQ pack. Sorry no, it’s just too much logistically and our soft pink brains would explode.
How much preparation do I do?
We provide literally every single thing to make the meal. So all you need is a clean kitchen and a great festive attitude. All the sauces & marinades are made. You will be required to: slather some of the fresh marinades onto the meat pre-cooking, chop up all the veg (it’s perfectly portioned though) and cook anything that needs cooking in a frypan or oven.
How long does it take to prep & cook?
From start to finish both meals take around 2-2.5 hours. We recommend roping in a friend or family member to help chop, clean and swill wine with you, to make it far easier, quicker & more enjoyable.
Can I add extra meat to the order?
Alas we don’t offer this, as it is a logistical nightmare with turkeys left, right and centre. We recommend giving Michael at Frank Torres in Bulwer St a call or a visit and pre-ordering any extra meat you need (can highly recommend his Porchetta’s, pork and fennel sausages, or rolled lamb roast stuffed with haloumi & pistachio…look everything is amazing just go).
I have allergies and intolerances – do you cater for these?
Whilst we don’t limit or remove any items relating to intolerances on request, we do list all known allergens on the specific packs descriptions.. We also list if they are an integral part of the meal or something you are able to omit yourself when making up the feast.
What are the serving sizes like?
Each serving size is aimed at feeding a large hungry male (or a lady who owns little pig and doesn’t know her stomachs limits). If you don’t waddle away from the Christmas table, have you even enjoyed your Christmas lunch?
Do you offer smaller or larger packs?
We offer the two pack sizes. Big Kahuna feeds 8-10 people and the BBQ Kahuna’s feed 6-8 people. If you have less people than this, we recommend saving one of the sides for boxing day and freezing half of the meat. Got more people than we’ve listed? We recommend buying both packs and cooking it all up in a glooooorious feast (we do think you should enlist help to make it all so you don’t get overwhelmed).
Can I just order the sides?
Alas nay, it creates a great complexity in our packing system.
Can I take it to Rottnest?
Why yes, yes you can and it’s a fantastic idea – it just costs an extra $20 for shipping labels & admin time to organise. We recommend the BBQ Kahuna – due to its simplicity – but both can be done in Rotto with the right level of enthusiasm.
Can I use my gift voucher to pay for this?
Sorry piglets not for this big guy. We only allow gift vouchers to be used for our Mealkits.
Do you pick up the return boxes?
If you're not one of our regular customers or planning to order from us again in the new year (what!?), you can drop the boxes back at our warehouse at 35 Radius Loop, Bayswater and we will clean and re-use these bad boi’s many more times – thanks in advance for your efforts. Otherwise you can keep the boxes as an excellent lightweight esky for your car boot, or recycle the cardboard box, use the wool liner (just remove & recycle the plastic outside) as compost in the garden & pop the ice bricks in your freezer.
