#tinselcoveredtrotters - Edition 1, This Little Pig's hot tips!
This Little Pig is VERY good at Christmas.
Now whilst this might seem quite a confident statement friends, we do have a bit of experience under our soft pink hides. Christmas time in LP land is a magical place, filled with gifts from the big boar & luscious swine, (a.k.a This Little Pig's parents, who we like to rename "Oprah" at this time of year) beautiful food from our wonderful suppliers & precious down time with our family & friends.
We thought, that this year we might share some of our red hot tips for an easy, stress free & delicious Christmas, followed up over the next few weeks by some wonderful gift suggestions for you, from local business who you NEED to know about. So settle in sweet swines, wrap some tinsel around yourself suggestively, pour a wine (if your not at work that is) and read on for the first edition of #tinselcoveredtrotters
V.I.T (VERY IMPORTANT THINGS)
Start with something light.
Now with a rigorous eating schedule ahead of you piglets, it's important to stay the distance & not make a pig of yourself. We always like to kick things off with a plate of icy cold oysters, simply dressed with fresh lime & a shallot vinaigrette. Now with seafood it really is a case of what you pay for is what you get, go quality over quantity and marvel at the difference. We like to shop at Kailis & Catalanos or strongly suggest making friends with someone who has a boat - the bigger the boat the better piglets!

Sides are Sexy!
Now whilst we can talk to you about the wonders of a perfectly glazed ham for an obscene amount of time, some love and your attention should be drawn to the wonders of side dishes. Think about these beauties as the back up singers to Mariah Carey - fabulous, on tune & just essential to a good meal.
Our recommendation? Two salads, plus a big platter of crispy, crunchy potatoes with a luscious, creamy side dressing and a bowl of blushing, chubby cherries.
This year, This Little Pig will be feasting on (and you can too if you order HERE) our gorgeous organic quinoa salad, with pomegranate, green olive, fresh herbs and a dusting of fetta. Alongside this, is a mixed summer tomato salad with parsley, preserved & fresh lemon salad & of course - a platter of our rosemary & sea salt potatoes, with a side of harissa infused aioli.

Pause for Bubbles
It's easy to get caught up in a hot sweaty mess of prep for Christmas food, however This Little Pig likes to attire itself in a flattering bathing suit, slip a caftan over the top & pop in and out of the pool in-between meals. Nothing vigorous mind you - just a gentle float around, whilst sipping something delicious and bubbly. Trust us - a chilled piglet makes for a much better chef!
Finish with something LIGHT
Our pick for a luscious, seasonal Christmas dessert would be this sublime recipe for juicy grilled peaches with fresh mint & almonds. WA stone fruit is at its absolute peak over summer and this recipe is not only awkwardly easy, but incredibly delicious & pretty to boot!

You can never have enough food.
See the wonderful thing about Christmas is that it's alllllll about the grazing & leftovers. Lavish slices of leftover ham for late breakfasts (topped with a soft poached egg & a dusting of parmesan) or delicious salads in the fridge for friends who pop in bearing gifts and cold bubbles. You don't want to go shopping piglets, trust us. Stock up the fridge and barricade yourselves into your home for the festive season (and only let in fun people who love food #hottip).
