Frequently Asked Questions
What comes in my delivery?
Everything you need to cook up a beautiful, traditional Christmas feast right down to the olive oil, salt & pepper. This kit is packed full of incredible WA produce & perfectly portioned sauces & marinades, with easy to follow recipe cards & a cooking plan. All you need to provide is a clean kitchen, an excellent festive attitude & a killer playlist...wait, we've done a killer playlist as well! You can find that here if you feel like you need some "get-me-in-the-festive-mood" assistance or just have a secret love of Michael Buble.
Is it any good? I’m feeling nervous about trusting you with my Christmas.
Fair enough piggo, Christmas is a pretty big deal. So is it any good? In a nutshell, yes of course it is. In a bigger nutshell, these little pigs take Christmas very seriously and coming into its 11th year of doing these marvellous packs, this fine swine thinks it definitely knows what it's doing. We've tested, tweaked & tasted with the aim that you have an easy, stress free meal that you didn’t have to wrestle over the last bag of rocket for at the shops, that is packed full of big punchy flavours, fantastic local produce and generous portion sizes. You can read more about why we think we're pretty great at this Christmas bizzo on our new blog here.
When is it delivered?
We have two delivery options: Friday 20th & Monday 23rd. We deliver between 9am & 5pm on these days.
Do I need to be home for the delivery?
Your delivery comes packed in our beautiful insulated cooler boxes with icebricks. It's designed to keep your delivery cool and comfortable up until 6pm the day of delivery. If you're not home, our couriers will pop the boxes in the safest/shadiest spot they can find. Once we've delivered your order it's over to you to ensure he doesn't grow trotters and trot away, so we suggest being home or around on the day of delivery or letting us know in your order notes at checkout the safest and coolest spot our couriers can leave your delivery.
Can I pick up my delivery from your warehouse?
We offer a pickup service from 10am-2pm on both delivery days from our warehouse at 35 Radius Loop, Bayswater. Please get in touch if you would prefer this option so we can organise & we can refund the automatic $10 delivery charge that is added to every order at checkout.
Can I request a delivery time?
Our couriers will be delivering between 9am & 5pm on both delivery days. Due to the sheer volume of orders, we are not able to provide specific delivery times, however get in touch if you need a rough estimation of AM or PM.
What are your delivery zones?
Our usual delivery zones apply (see map below) if you're not in this area, perhaps consider getting your pack delivered to a friend or family member who is or you can pickup from our warehouse in Bayswater. Depending on where you would like a delivery to, we can also discuss the possibility of delivering to you for an extra courier fee. Get in touch fine swine & we will see what we can do!
Can I take it to Rottnest?
Why yes, yes you can and it’s a fantastic idea, however we're no longer able to deliver to the ferry terminals as we've done in previous years. Our drivers are now required to wait with the boxes (can't just drop and run unless someone is there to collect) which as you can imagine is not possible on a very busy Christmas delivery day to tee up specific times to do that. We'd suggest organising someone to swing past our premise on either delivery day and pickup your order to take to the Ferry terminals. All our Christmas kits come packed in our beautiful insulated boxes which can withstand a ferry ride to Rotto.
Are the packs Dietitian approved?
Our Christmas feasting packs do not come with our usual "Dietitian Approved" review from Dr Amelia Harray, due to certain ingredients & the portion sizes. Dr Amelia however does wish you a safe & delicious festive season.
How much preparation do I do?
We provide literally every single thing to make the meal. So all you need is a clean kitchen and a great festive attitude. All the sauces & marinades are made. You will be required to: slather some of the fresh marinades onto the meat pre-cooking, chop up all the veg (it’s perfectly portioned though) and cook anything that needs cooking in a fry pan or oven. When you place a Christmas order, keep an eye on your emails as we will be in touch a few weeks out from delivery with an amazingly comprehensive list of what to expect with your delivery, cooking & serving implements & handy tips and tricks to make your day delicious & easy.
How long does it take to prep & cook?
Prep & cooking times are listed on each dish on the order page so you can gauge what time to allow. Once you've ordered we also send through a detailed suggested cooking order & plan (including what dishes/plates/kitchen implements you will need for your order) several weeks prior to delivery day. We always recommend roping in a friend or family member to help chop, clean and swill wine with you, to make it far easier, quicker & more enjoyable.
Can I choose my own menu?
You can! With the exception of the sides which are only sold in their packs you can mix and match to your hearts content with our main and dessert options & order one item, a mix or all options. If you've got any questions about the quantities after reading the meal descriptions, please get in touch to chat as we can give you more info on serving sizes. You can also add more than one of each dish in the cart section. Simply add to your cart first, then select the dropdown option that will appear in the cart for how many of each dish you need.
I have allergies and intolerances – do you cater for these?
Whilst we don’t limit or remove any items relating to intolerances on request, we will list all known allergens by each dish on the menu order page. We also list if they are an integral part of the meal or something you are able to omit yourself when making up the feast. Due to the large number of suppliers involved & our kitchen & pack areas being used to process a wide variety of ingredients we cannot guarantee that trace elements of gluten & nuts won't be present. Please get in touch if you have specific allergen concerns that are not covered in the meal descriptions.
What are the serving sizes like?
Generous! Each serving size is aimed at feeding a large hungry male (or a lady who owns little pig and doesn’t know her stomachs limits). If you don’t slowly sway away from the Christmas table, have you even enjoyed your Christmas lunch?
Do you offer smaller or larger options?
All the dishes are specific in terms of serving size, so please refer to each dish's info as a guide. Got more people than we’ve listed? We recommend adding a few different main options or Mr Ham Solo & cooking it all up in a glooooorious feast (we do think you should enlist help to make it all so you don’t get overwhelmed). We've also got a blog post landing shortly where we go into much marvellous detail on this and give you some ideas and suggestions on what you can order.
Can I mix up the sides packs?
Alas nay, the current pick & choose menu structure that we're going with allows for 500+ potential combinations which is a logistical packing challenge as is. We've collated the sides kits with their cooking times, flavours & prep in mind, so you'll just have to trust us on this one piggos or order the kit and split up the dishes to suit your feasting.
Can I use my gift voucher to pay for this?
Sure! Enter the code at the checkout to use your voucher towards your delicious Christmas feasting. If it's an older voucher our website might be naughty and try not to honour it - please get in touch with Chris our customer service guru & he can help you out.
Do you pick up the return boxes?
If you're not one of our regular customers or planning to order from us again in the new year (what!?), you can drop the boxes back at our warehouse at 35 Radius Loop, Bayswater and we will clean and re-use these bad boi’s many more times – thanks in advance for your efforts. Otherwise you can keep the boxes as an excellent lightweight esky for your car boot, or recycle the cardboard box, use the wool liner (just remove & recycle the plastic outside) as compost in the garden & pop the ice bricks in your freezer.
That's all the info we can think of for now Piggos - if you've got any questions in the meantime shoot through an email to The Ginger Pig (aka Chris our pig of the people) on [email protected] or via our contact form here.
